UK versus Michigan State November 12 2013

The University of Kentucky has been, going on these (6) six decades now, my favorite college team through thick and thin (and boy was there a lot of thin from 1979 until the early 1990's).

Now comes Kentucky, after not making the NCAA Tournament and losing in the first round of the NIT, with what has been hyped as "the greatest freshman recruiting ever".

I have watched Kentucky play almost every game. This year they have a lot of talent and, when they gel, will be a contender for the NCAA Championship.

Tomorrow night Kentucky, ranked # 1 in college mens basketball, plays in a tournament against Michigan State, ranked # 2 in college mens basketball, the first time a # 1 has met a # 2 this early in the season (i.e. the college basketball season started last week).

I will, God willing, be rooting for Kentucky and they may not win tomorrow but one thing I can attest to is that "it is not how you start...but how you finish" that matters. Hence, I wish Coach Cal - his staff - and every player on that team success on the court and more importantly after they leave the court.

GO WILDCATS.
