To the family, loved ones, friends, etc. of those in jail/prison Merry Christmas
Being aware from ones loved ones, especially during this Christmas, is mentally - emotionally - and physically taxing to say the least.
To those who are in jail/prison for NONVIOLENT crimes I pray that you; repent, make whole all that were adversely affected, use your time in jail/prison to better oneself (i.e. go to church, attend anger management classes, further your education, etc.), let those you love know how much you care, and that you get a job and you are; successful, happy, of good health, and thankful for all the blessings God/Jesus has given you.
I know that those without high dollar, and/or politically entrenched, and bona fide legal representation have no chance of having your rights exercised. It is a shame and a black eye on American "justice" and it should not be tolerated any longer.
While illegal immigrants get to have their family members/friends/loved ones with them here in America, and every effort is made to "ensure that the family dynamic remains intact" that never applies to American citizens in jail/prison. Where is the outrage and enforcement of our legal rights to keep the family whole as is the case with illegal immigrants? It is a tragedy every moment of everyday.
Even when released the person(s) have a modern day "scarlet letter" on them - their name - their family - etc. Getting a job is close to impossible. Obtaining resources for mental, emotional, and/or physical therapy is difficult. What makes it worse is that time is forever lost when it comes to children, fathers, mothers, friends, etc.
As Jesus preached, more than once, that we should reach out to those in prison/jail it becomes more and more difficult in this age of screens and little privacy including ones past. But, we should pray for our fellow man. Wish them well. Give them a chance.
Well I have to go now and Merry Christmas 2017 to all.
Take care and may God bless you and yours...always.
